We’re in a developed country, at the height of technology, and the age of communication. Wow nice going BT, from setting the bar and raising it for your competitors to beat, you’re now far below it.

I used to have BT Broadband, and would recommend it to clients and friends. Now, I wouldn’t recommend them to provide a telephone service let alone broadband.

Before I go into some detail, lets start with a bit of background. BT is the largest provider of broadband in the country. It provides the majority of all telephone connections, and makes millions every second. Wow, they have every reason to suck…

Lets start with some personal experiences, when broadband first came to my area, I got BT broadband, it was the pinnacle of technology, and its speed wasn’t matched. Yet today, I have moved away from ADSL, and moved to DSL with fibre optic cables. The service now is unbelievable. Anyway, lets look at what went wrong:

    1. LAN party / multiple connections on BT, Suffolk.

I went to a friends, and these things failed, I am unable to pin-point exactly the problem, however this is what happens. 2 xbox’s on xbox live, one would be kicked off by the connection. 2 connections to relic on Company of heroes, 1 would be kicked off – im pretty sure this would be repeated on other services too. Multiple connections seem to be rejected.

    2. BT’s untolerable slow speeds

Wow, broadband’s been around an age now, and some places have the great speed of 256 or 512, i mean come on! Thats crap…

    3. Unlimited broadband… MY ARSE

When broadband first came out years ago, it was unlimited, then a few years later it was limited for more than the old prices… THEN it went unlimited again however if you use it too much, you get limited because of ‘fair usage’ – Fuck sake, go look up the word ‘unlimited’ in the dictionary, bloody morons…

    4. Frequent disconnections

At work there’s bt, and the line disconnects roughly 10 times per day, taking a bout 2 minutes each time to reconnect. Now working with the web, I’m frequently using FTP uploads, large in nature. Bloody brilliant…

    5. Phone support

About as fucking useful as a monkey with a chocolate teapot trying to make a vodka and coke, with ice.

    6. Costs

Costs have gone up, not down…

    7. Email

If i want to use BT email on a non BT connection, BT rejects sending mail from there servers.

Appart from that, they are great…

    Thanks

    Wuup Team

      HI
Please sign this petition ; http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/BTBroadband
BT Broadband service provider claims unlimited download speeds and then filters certain websites like Rapidshare.com etc and then that means we as customers are being exploited , We pay an above average monthly rate for our “Unlimited Broadband” , At the time of convincing us to sign up we were not told that our web use will be controlled and filtered as BT feels fit , In my world “Unlimited” means NO RESTRICTIONS.
Also The BT servers are so slow at times that even showing a webpage can take minutes , BT Claims a 8 MEG speed but we only get between 1 and 4 megs, depending on the time of day. Once BT has you trapped in a 18 month contract you have to pay a fine to get out of it.
Please sign this petition to say that you want BT to improve their service and stop filtering the websites we choose to visit.

      PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION !!!!!! ;

      THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Thanks James, I fully understand your frustrations, in my experience petitions seldom work. I suggset changing your supplier ASAP, 18 months is the new norm, and usually have huge fees if you pull out. I feel though if you took bt to court to end your contract, you could wave this fee. Good Luck!

all “unlimited” broadband is “fair-use” policy. Basically you can download as “much” as you want, BUT they can throttle your speed.

    • Alan Hamlyn on 12 September, 2008

so you agree that its not right elderan?

Why Dont you people try IDNET

    • la on 20 April, 2010

completely agree.. they are blocking me from the internet for a week because of limits ;\ pathetic useless company cant wait to change to another isp

      • Alan Hamlyn on 21 April, 2010

sorry to hear that :( all the broadband companies are rubbish really, and most need to look up the definition of the word ‘unlimited’ too… really really irritates me.

    • BT Are shite on 9 July, 2010

I personally advocate avoiding BT as they are rubbish, their 21CN network is screwed up as well.

Ive found that independent ISPs offer much better service & support than BT

Try IDNET they have a one month contract and are very good, Ive used them for several years now & on the one occasion it was down (BT fault in our exchange) for about two hours, I got a call from them saying it should be working & could I connect.

      Highly recommended.
