I did’nt believe BT Broadband could be so bad, I just moved house, And my buddy took over my flat, My broadband was with be unlimited, I was getting around 1600 mb, My friend being new to BB, Decided to go with BT, I went round and did a speed test, And got speeds less than 200mb thats 1400 mb slower than i had on the same line, With be unlimited, After contacting them, They have not replied yet, Im sure they will come up with some lame excuse, But my instinct tells me i would’nt touch BT broadband

I personally advocate avoiding BT as they are rubbish, their 21CN network is screwed up as well.

Ive found that independent ISPs offer much better service & support than BT

Try IDNET they have a one month contract and are very good, Ive used them for several years now & on the one occasion it was down (BT fault in our exchange) for about two hours, I got a call from them saying it should be working & could I connect.

Highly recommended.

sorry to hear that all the broadband companies are rubbish really, and most need to look up the definition of the word ‘unlimited’ too… really really irritates me.

yes BT completely sucks I have there best package costs nearly 30 pounds and get a very slow service, sky’s is faster so is virgin’s and also frequent disconnections get your game together BT

all “unlimited” broadband is “fair-use” policy. Basically you can download as “much” as you want, BUT they can throttle your speed.

Thanks James, I fully understand your frustrations, in my experience petitions seldom work. I suggset changing your supplier ASAP, 18 months is the new norm, and usually have huge fees if you pull out. I feel though if you took bt to court to end your contract, you could wave this fee. Good Luck!

BT Broadband service provider claims unlimited download speeds and then filters certain websites like Rapidshare.com etc and then that means we as customers are being exploited , We pay an above average monthly rate for our “Unlimited Broadband” , At the time of convincing us to sign up we were not told that our web use will be controlled and filtered as BT feels fit , In my world “Unlimited” means NO RESTRICTIONS.
Also The BT servers are so slow at times that even showing a webpage can take minutes , BT Claims a 8 MEG speed but we only get between 1 and 4 megs, depending on the time of day. Once BT has you trapped in a 18 month contract you have to pay a fine to get out of it.
Please sign this petition to say that you want BT to improve their service and stop filtering the websites we choose to visit.
