Google Page Rank

This has always been a controversial topic ever since Google dreamed up the idea over a bag of cheese and onion crisps. Why? Well because half of the web master community believe that this is the sole way to make your website top of the search engines, and the other half either dont know what it is or believe it has little or no impact on your rankings. Then you get the wierdo’s who think page rank tm is some sort of ‘paper grading system’…

In my eyes, working ‘with’ page rank, I can tell you from experience that Google page rank is NOT the be all and end all of your rankings. In fact I’ve know websites which have had page ranks of 1 or 2 and still achieved top desired keywords. Why? Well because the content or website itself is of a decent quality.

I suppose now, you might be thinking what is page rank exactly? Well its Googles ranking system for your website. It takes in many factors, a lot are googles trade secrets for how they produce their search results, but what we do know, is that factors such as, internal linking, external linking, recipicol links, user friendlyness, site maps are just a few of the biggie’s. Now thats not to say you go out and do all of these things, though I’d suggest if you don’t have a user friendly site, that you make one - but however, if you start getting loads of external links, Google will get suspicious, they aren’t as dumb as I look… What you need to do, is make your site look as natural as possible. Let it build up slowly, make sure your links are relevant, don’t constant overhaul your seo on your pages, if you make quite a few seo changes, let them go through, and wait… this does make the whole process long and frustrating, but it makes for higher PR.

When it comes to PR, if you cant wait like a lot of people. They decide to BUY PR, buy buying links from high PR websites. This is against Googles policy, and at your own risk.
