As a search marketeer, I’m obsessed with trends as you can imagine, but recently, I’ve been obsessed with trends which twitter provides, and ultimatley watching it using ‘Twitter Fall’. Its a great way to get latest lowdown on any industry or topic.
Twitter is also one of the only places where these can be the most talked about things:
- Masters
- Jesus
- Hannah Montana
- Happy Easter
Now I had to laugh when Hannah Montana pops into the mix… just shows you how a topic can be bigger than easter itself!
I use twitter trends, with twitter fall quite often, I put in keywords such as SEO, php, web design, even my own company name in to see how many people are talking about these things, it gives me an insight into what’s current, after all ‘tweets’ are done so often, its hot off the press! To show you just how powerful this is, even Sky News has a full time twitter reporter.
