Well E3 is over and done with after another year.
Microsoft’s new 360 experience, Nintendos MotionPlus and Sony’s graphs done in LittleBigPlanet.
A slightly disappointing E3 this year, as nothing really new was announced. LIVE avatars look fun in a comic sense, games should in theory reward players with specific cloths that are from the game or promote the game.
The biggest thing for me was really some of the newer games, “I AM ALIVE”, “Deadspace” and the like. The software side of the consoles isn’t going to change much for Sony and Nintendo but for Microsoft, a whole new interface was unveiled. Making the 360 more user friendly and finally ….. FINALLY putting “play disk” closer to the start point. What could be wrong with that?
Oh of course Americans get specific content with the “NetFlix” partnership. I suppose when it “finally” comes to the U.K it will be LoveFilm. Which I have no trouble with really, i just hope it meshes with NetFlix nicely when streaming movie together with the new “party” system.
By that I mean that the 360 will now have an upto 8 player party system, consistant over all 360 games and the new dash. With your party you can watch a movie together “if” the other people are NetFlix subscribers aswell. I suppose that can be mighty fun, as watching movies with friends general is. You could voice-over the entire movie with made up dialogue.
Nintendo really and I mean really need to pull the proverbal finger out for the hardcore crowd. GTA for the ds, will be aweful. Handheld GTA’s are always terrible. They need to unveil a new Zelda game and do it with fireworks and Reggie (Reginald Fils-Aimé) dressed up as princess Zelda.
Sony need to learn that having probably the best game their system will ever have (MGS 4 : review here) does not excuse them for doing nothing. They need another AAA game and soon. Resistenance 2 “could” be that game, but it looks like their aim for an “epic” sized game may leave much to be desired. Quantity over quality is never a good thing.
So what do you lot think? Should Microsoft win the best of show? or should Sony?
