This doesn’t just apply to Yahoo, when we think about PPC (pay per click), it’s been arround for ages, pretty much since the web began, but seeing as Google is the new kid on the block, how come Yahoo, MSN, haven’t jumped on the band wagon to improve their PPC services.
For example, there is hardly any customisation on when your ads will show on Yahoo, you cannot set when your ads will show and at what percentage of the bid, and you cant position preference either, infact, there is hardly anything you can do but bid on a keyword and marvell at the smart interface.
However, what is surprising is, although volumes are far lower than the mighty Google, conversions and quality of traffic is far better, other people I’ve spoken to have found the same! Interesting, but if Yahoo and MSN stepped up their game, maybe we could waste less time going in and out of the control panel editing our bids.
Times are harder on PPC at the moment, with less clicks, higher bids, but thats all down to the recession looming encomoy.
